Report summary

The Transmed pipeline system transports gas from the Hassi R'Mel field onshore Algeria, across Tunisia and the Mediterranean to Sicily and onwards to the Italian mainland. Transmed forms the back-bone of the Italian gas transmission system. It is 1,575 kilometres long and terminates at Minerbio, near Bologna, in the Po Valley.
