Asset Report
Tui Area (Ceased)
Report summary
The Tui Area is located in the Taranaki basin about 40 km offshore and 25 km northwest of the Maui field. In mid-2019, a three-well sidetrack drilling campaign was planned. However, the first well was unsuccessful, and Tamarind's financiers withdrew support for the remaining two wells. The combination of low production and cost overruns from the drilling program led Tamarind to enter voluntary administration in November 2019.
