The Veracruz basin is located to the south of the Tampico-Misantla basin along the coastal plain of the Gulf of Mexico. The basin contains a collection of small fields in two geologically distinct regions: the Córdoba Platform in the west and the Tertiary basin in the east.The Córdoba Platform is a mature oil and gas province.
