Vermilion is increasing its Canadian footprint, buying Spartan Energy in a Cdn$1.4 billion (US$1.1 billion) all-share deal. Spartan's land base covers approximately 399,000 net acres, with the majority in southeast Saskatchewan. The deal adds approximately 23,000 boe/d of production net to Vermilion.
