Whitecap Resources and Veren Inc. merge in a C$15 billion (US$10 billion) all-stock deal, creating Canada’s seventh-largest producer with 370,000 boe/d (63% liquids). This merger of equals marks the culmination of both companies' strategic pivots into the Montney and Duvernay, supported by strong conventional cash flow from Saskatchewan assets. Significant scale with complementary acreage and infrastructure will position the company, retaining the Whitecap name, as a dominant player across the WCSB.
