Yakela
Report summary
The Yakela gas field is located in the northern Tarim Basin, about 50 kilometres southeast of the city of Kuche in Xinjiang's Autonomous Region. The main gas-bearing reservoir is the Lower Cretaceous Yageliemu formation which stretches over an area of 38km2. Yakela began pilot production in 1991 and commercial development started in 2005.Gas supplies the southern Xinjiang markets and also feeds the West-East pipeline.
