About the webinar

APAC accounts for the majority of global industrial emissions today, and with energy demand only expected to increase, CCUS will be critical in driving the region towards net-zero. CCUS emerges as one key solution, but what's the most viable pathway?

According to Lens Carbon, CCUS projects in the pipeline have increased over 25 times since 2019. This has been driven by a greater recognition of the role of CCUS in global decarbonisation and stronger government policy support. There is about 60 Mtpa of operational capacity globally today, most of which are driven by North America and Europe. But all eyes are on the 1.2 Btpa capacity in the pipeline…

Throughout the webinar, Hetal Gandhi, CCUS research lead for APAC will explore pivotal questions, including:

  • What are the key opportunities for CCUS in APAC?
  • Across the region, how do different countries compare in terms of CCUS policy readiness?
  • What else can APAC do to improve the viability and acceptance of CCUS projects for key hard-to -abate sectors?

This webinar is hosted in partnership with the Asia CCUS Network, part of the ERIA, and forms their 14th Knowledge Sharing Conference titled: 'Policy Effectiveness and Emerging Trends Impacting CCUS Growth in APAC'.
