Identify growth opportunities and make informed investment decisions
Compared to biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) or biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film markets, the global market for biaxially-oriented nylon (BOPA) film is very much a niche segment in terms of volume. Its major use is within mainstream flexible packaging where its superior puncture resistance, higher tensile strength, better temperature tolerance, and superior gas and odour barrier give it an advantage over competing film substrates.
Whether you are a nylon film or nylon resin supplier who needs film market forecasts, a substrate converter looking for growth opportunities or a flexible packaging company needing to make strategic sourcing decisions, our studies of the global nylon film industry provide a detailed analysis of the factors driving the market, allowing you to identify growth opportunities and make better investment decisions.

Webinar: Polyamide and PBT strategic outlook H1 2023
The thermoplastics team hosted a webinar on 30 May 2023 to present their long-term report update. The report describes a detailed vision of the supply and demand for the intermediates and applications on polyamide 6 and 66. In the case of polyamide 66 this year should mark a turning point in the supply of ADN/HMD. intermediates. The entry into the operation of new capacities in China makes China self-sufficient in these intermediates. The other capacities due to come into operation in 2024 and 2025 will even generate large regional and global overcapacity. Each region must manage its own over-capacity with much fewer export possibilities.
Will the China polyester chain bounce back in H1 2023?
In December 2022, China took a U-turn and scrapped its Dynamic Zero-Covid policy which featured harsh lockdowns, controls on people’s movement and mass tests. China’s economy, once heavily depressed by the policy, finally managed to shake off its shackles. The policy changes have shored up sentiment in China’s polyester market and transformed outlooks on fundamentals since we published the H2 2022 long-term services. This report will summarise fundamental market movements and update our most recent outlook on major products along the polyester value chain.
