Sushmita joined the metals & mining team in August 2022 as a senior analyst covering cost assessment of steel and iron ore assets, with special focus on DRI costs and breakeven analysis. She is also the SME for emissions benchmarking tool (EBT) where she analyses emissions across the steel value chain and pathways to decarbonising steel.
Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Sushmita worked as a senior steel analyst at CRISIL research in Mumbai (India) where she was primarily creating intelligence reports on steel and iron ore cost modelling and impact assessment of decarbonisation on cost and supply for steel sector across different net zero scenarios. She has also worked on short and long-term demand, supply as well as price forecasting for steel sector in the early stages of her career.
