Cross-polymer demand: introducing a new demand framework

A new forecasting approach is necessary. In this, the first of our cross-polymer insights, we proudly showcase our newly developed cross-polymer demand model developed for plastic packaging markets. In addition highlighting our new capabilities, we discuss how our model forecasts plastic packaging markets to evolve. Key considerations include which packaging applications are likely to take market share (rigid vs flexible, simple vs complex films), and where growth will occur geographically. We also present an alternative scenario - core to our new capabilites - in which we highlight the end-uses and regions most exposed to a downside macro-economic long-term outlook. Through the remainder of the 2021 we will extend our model to additional sectors including transport, textiles & apparel, construction and consumer & institutional products. We will also add and end-of-life recycling module forecasting the growth of recycling capacities and technologies.
