European MEG anti-dumping duties finalised
Report summary
The European Commission has announced final dumping duties on US and Saudi MEG imports and published the Official Journal of the European Union on 15 November. Following publication, the regulation comes into effect from 16 November. The ADD investigation was initiated in mid-October 2020 and following a complaint by MEG producers in Europe that imports of MEG from US and Saudi Arabia manufacturing origins were causing damage and profit injury to European production via price dumping activities. According to the report, the definitive antidumping measures should be imposed in order to prevent further injury being caused to the Union industry by the dumped imports of the product concerned. Finalized duties will be effective for a five-year time horizon, and subject to review thereafter.
