Russian ethylene developments: everything you need to know
Report summary
Russia is set to emerge as a significant contributor to global ethylene capacity additions over the next 7 years - with a forecast 6.8 million tons of new grassroots ethylene capacity additions, second only to China through this period. Russia’s ethylene industry has pivoted recently from being a relatively small and largely domestically focussed industry towards a growing superpower that is expected to deliver some of the largest new ethylene plants in the world in the next few years. This insight will focus on Russia’s continued emergence and rapid growth of ethylene capacity during the 2020 decade in a global context, coupled with a focussed review of each of 5 key projects currently under development. The overall economics of Russian ethylene production will also be reviewed to give perspective on the relative competitiveness of the project developments on a global stage.
