In June 2023, Shell announced its strategy in repurposing its Energy and Chemical Parks in its bid for decarbonisation. A key focus in this strategy included initiating a strategic review of Shell’s Pulau Bukom and Jurong Island assets in Singapore. We explain the rationale behind Shell’s move by analysing the relative competitiveness of Shell’s Pulau Bukom assets and also discuss the potential solutions for Shell.
