Report summary
Signal Peak owns and operates the Bull Mountain mine, a longwall operation in Montana that mainly serves international markets with bituminous thermal coal. Signal Peak is equally controlled by US utility FirstEnergy, Boich Group and global commodities trading house Gunvor Group. In recent years, the mine has exported the entirety of its production to customers primarily located in Asia. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
