The El Descanso mine (Norte) is located in Colombia's Cesar Department, north of the Pribbenow mine, in the El Descanso North concession area. The concession is set to expire in September 2029, but we expect an extension to be granted allowing the mine to operate at least until 2048. Drummond received the final mining and environmental permits for the mine in 2008 which allowed production to begin in 2009. Drummond acquired the mining concession from Ecocarbon in September 1998 through an international bidding process.
