This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
On 19 December, GFG Alliance SIMEC's 2 Mtpa Tahmoor underground coking coal mine and Banpu Centennial's 2 Mtpa Clarence underground thermal coal mine in NSW stopped production as a result of the bushfires. In our previous update, we reported that Banpu's 3 Mtpa underground Springvale operation had closed on 12 December, taking the total production outage to 7 Mtpa across three mines. And while the fires continue to burn, Banpu has remarkably stuck an agreement to buyout the remaining share in the Springvale mine and Angus Place Extension project from Kores and SK.
