NSW bushfires move closer to coal mines
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Bushfires are continuing to rage in NSW, and have moved a step closer to a number of coal mines operated by Banpu, Peabody, Yancoal and Glencore. Despite the proximity of the fires, we understand coal production and railing is continuing, however smoke and poor visibility may impact output if conditions deteriorate. There is also a risk to power and transmission infrastructure with AEMO issuing a warning this morning of a credible risk to the Mt Piper transmission line.
