Life in Asia Pacific is electrifying. Literally. Over the past five years, the region contributed over three-quarters of global demand growth for electricity. Pre-pandemic, we had anticipated that APAC would account for 67% of global power demand growth through to 2040. Such growth requires over US$1 trillion in new investment. Wind and solar are a critical part of the story. While hydrocarbons continue to have a major role to play in meeting demand for electricity, renewables were set to make up 75% of newly installed capacity across the region. But will coronavirus derail this?
