Energy policy to 2030 - European leaders reach agreement
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
EU heads of state have reached agreement on energy policy to 2030, including key targets for emissions reduction, renewables and efficiency. These objectives are intended to establish a long-term framework for affordable, secure and sustainable energy. These goals - 40% emissions reduction, 27% energy from renewables and an unbinding 27% efficiency target by 2030 - position the EU to support negotiation of an international accord at the UN’s climate change congress in Paris during 2015.
