Report summary

Two-thirds of the electricity output in Mexico will come from natural gas by 2035. The reform will accelerate Mexico's transition away oil-fired power generation. CFE will be unbundled and a new independent dispatcher, CENACE will operate the system. Mexico will promote the increase of renewables, particularly geothermal, to diversity its generation matrix.
