Despite Turkey’s GDP contracting 4.8% in 2009 during the Great Recession, the country is one of the fastest growing European economies. Economic growth slowed in 2012 as consumption and investment contracted but growth is forecast to accelerate in 2013 to 3.8% and again to 4.9% in 2014. This will be driven by a rebound in consumption and investment, buoyed by interest rate loosening
