The widespread emergence of generative AI is fueling the recent explosive growth of the global data centre market. Asia Pacific, specifically, is continuing to witness aggressive expansion, surpassing the 10 GW of operational capacity in 2023 with many more development projects in the pipeline. But as data centres are significant energy consumers, the question arises: how crucial will gas and LNG be in fuelling the growth of the industry, specifically in Asian countries where gas-fired generation plays a major role?
