Overall global gas supply grows by 1,240 bcm between 2019 and 2040 in our latest view. This growth is primarily fuelled by increased shale gas output from North America, but other regions show high growth rates as their export infrastructure - particularly LNG - expands. The United States remains the world's biggest producer throughout our forecast, but Russia remains the biggest net exporter of gas, by some margin, out to 2040.
