Global gas markets long-term outlook H1 2020: Base Case
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Even before the coronavirus pandemic, oil price crash and ensuing economic upheaval, 2020 was already shaping up to be one of oversupply for the global gas market. As countries around the world went into lockdown, the impact to gas demand was immediate, but as restrictions loosen demand is already showing signs of recovery. The supply impacts however will be longer lasting. In the H1 2020 Base Case, we analyze the impact of coronavirus on global gas markets and the investment climate, the consequences of today’s supply project delays and cancellations on prices in the medium term, and how the energy transition will drive demand growth and long-term market dynamics to 2040. Full H1 2020 supply-demand balance dataset now available.
