North America gas weekly update: Freeport LNG rattles gas markets again
Report summary
Yet another Freeport LNG update is rattling gas markets. A delay to restart and full operational capacity has increased our total outage assumptions by 75 bcf. With storage injections failing to narrow the deficit significantly prior to the start of winter so far, every bcf of added storage will be welcome. However, winter gas storage worries persist and elevated Henry Hub gas prices are being pulled upward by ever increasing global gas prices. In the weeks ahead the North America gas market asks: • Will US gas production recover and move even higher? • How much will the storage deficit be reduced as we exit peak summer?
