Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: Has the storage surplus peaked?
Report summary
With more normal weather conditions returning, a flip back to gas storage withdrawal mode is expected. Additional weekly withdrawals are in store to prevent the bulging surplus from expanding further. In fact, the week ending 15 March, where an anomalous injection was reported, might have been the peak of the storage surplus that swelled to 678 bcf versus the rolling five-year average. This weekly natural gas commodity report seeks to explore: • How much will the storage surplus start to contract? • Has Freeport LNG Train 3 finally restarted? • How much is US gas production declining?
