Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: how many more triples?
Report summary
It looks like we will barely avoid another triple digit injection for the week of 4 October, but fundamentals point to more triple digit injections in the weeks ahead, barring the introduction of colder weather. Outside of weather, supply increases were largely to blame for the injections. LNG and Mexican exports did not increase enough to counterbalance those supply gains. The market continues to wait on weather, though. This year’s brief October cool shots are a reminder of the impact of quick weather changes. Last year, a flip to colder weather in early November provided enough market excitement for a significant rally.
