Demand destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Beryl’s landfall in Texas last week has extended another week. Freeport LNG, which completely shut down in advance of the storm on Sunday, 7 July, is just now getting a single train restored. In addition, Corpus Christi Train 2 began to shut off half its compressors this morning, coinciding with pipeline maintenance that is scheduled through early next week. This weekly natural gas commodity report seeks to explore: • How long will it take Freeport LNG to be fully restored? • Will cooling degree days start to moderate? • Is power demand at record levels?
