North America gas weekly update: slow post-Laura recovery
Report summary
We dodged a big one. Despite Hurricane Laura tied as the fifth strongest ever to make landfall no major damage to Gulf Coast energy infrastructure occurred. Precautionary production shut-ins in the offshore GoM and in Louisiana have starting to recover. LNG feed gas recovery may take a bit longer: • Sabine Pass was relatively unscathed and is expected to resume soon with some tankers diverted to load at Corpus Christi instead • Cameron encountered some flooding and wind damage according to our Genscape flyover imagery but not extensive
