North America gas weekly update: Weather shifting to fall
Report summary
Last year a very large 129 bcf was injected for this upcoming storage report. The record high weekly injection was the 147 bcf reported on 4 July 2003. Although near triple digits, we expect only 95 bcf to be injected for the week ending 29 September. In fact due to still resilient power demand and underperforming supply, only one triple digit weekly injection may occur this fall. This weekly natural gas commodity report seeks to explore: • Are temperatures normalizing this fall? • When will heating degree days start to eclipse cooling degree days? • Will the market tighten further when Cove Point resumes operations?
