The Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission announced on August 5th that residential gas prices will be increased from September 1st. Prices will rise significantly and will be tiered according to overall levels of consumption, with the base price rising by over 20% to RMB3/m3 (US$14/mcf), while top tier prices will reach RMB4.2/m3(US$19.3/mcf), the highest level in China.
