Cheniere sanctions Corpus Christi Phase 2
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
This is the first US LNG project to start construction since Elba Island in October 2016, and the first FID on new capacity globally since Coral FLNG in June last year. The recently concluded sales agreements with Trafigura and PetroChina have been instrumental in moving the project forward. Cheniere has shown more flexibility in structuring these deals than the earlier contracts at Corpus Christi. Its ability to do so points to the strengths, both of the company's business model and the project's economics.
