Commodity Market Report
Global gas & LNG weekly summary: 16 Mar 2023
Report summary
TTF’s front-month contract settled at $13.2 on Wednesday, relatively flat to last week, as demand continued to drop. We continue to think that the market will likely overshoot to the downside before seeing demand emerge in a big way, as traders watch to see if low prices are here to stay. TTF continues to sit in the coal-to-gas switching range indicating we should see an increase in price sensitive demand in the coming weeks. We also are seeing LNG prices approach the oil parity price for the first time since 2021.
