Global LNG regas project tracker Q3 2020
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Despite coronavirus hitting short-term LNG consumption, we expect robust long-term LNG demand growth to continue and this will keep driving investments in new regas capacity. A huge amount of new regas capacity is already under construction. A total of 144 mmtpa (equivalent to 40% of 2020 global LNG supply) is presently being built. This includes 33 LNG new terminals under construction, adding 92.8 mmtpa, and a further 51.0 mmtpa of capacity being added via existing terminal expansions. This report identifies new and under construction regas terminals, expansions at existing regas terminals and benchmarks development at pre-FID projects against a number of milestones. The Excel download is the main deliverable of this report and includes details on 33 under construction regas terminals, 166 pre-FID projects and expansions at 26 existing terminals and 10 recently opened terminals.
