Hainan LNG has a nominal capacity of 3.0 mmtpa. It is located near the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, on the northwestern coast of the island province of Hainan.CNOOC holds 65% of the project interest and the provincial government of Hainan controls the rest. The Hainan LNG project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in July 2011.
