In August 2008, Hokkaido Gas began soil improvement works for the construction of its Ishikari LNG terminal on Hokkaido, Japan's second-largest island. The terminal received its commissioning cargo from Sakhalin-2 on October 7, 2012 with commercial operations beginning on November 30, 2012. Ishikari is the first large-scale receiving terminal in Hokkaido.Kawasaki Heavy Industries build the the storage tanks for the terminal. The cost of the project was estimated at 40 billion yen ...
