Asset Report
Krk LNG terminal
Report summary
In February 2019, the terminal developer, LNG Croatia (a joint venture between TSO, Plinacro, and utility HEP) announced a final investment decision (FID) on its 2.8bcm (~1.9 mmtpa) floating import terminal. FID was announced despite disappointing results from the binding bidding season for regas capacity. However, due to funding from the Croatian government, the European Commission, LNG Croatia and a scaling down of the terminal specification’s, costs were brought in line with the revised budget. The Krk terminal's FSRU, LNG Croatia, arrived in early December 2020 with a cargo of approximately 9,500 tonnes, which was used in final tests during installation of the FSRU. On 1 January, the Krk LNG terminal received its first carrier with a cargo of approximately 66,600 tonnes, in line with developer planned start-up date.
