In September 2015, Excelerate announced that it would no longer be pursuing development of the Lavaca Bay floating LNG (FLNG) export project. Excelerate launched the project in 2012 and was part-way through the environmental review required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) when it decided to withdraw its environmental application, effectively bringing the project to an end.
