Commodity Market Report
LNG short-term outlook: December 2023
Report summary
Prices fell in December due to high gas inventories and milder weather forecasts for winter. Cold snaps have caused sporadic rises in heating demand, but TTF day-ahead and month-ahead continue to slide. Asian LNG prices have trended downwards as demand remains weak in the region, but Asia still retains its premium over European LNG prices. Spreads between Europe and Asia have fluctuated between $2-3 but have reduced in recent days to approximately $1.70.
