Commodity Market Report
LNG short-term outlook: June 2023
Report summary
After plunging in May, global gas prices rallied rapidly through June due to extended maintenance in Norway before stabilising in the $10.5-11/mmbtu range. India, Thailand and smaller Southeast Asian markets have supported tendering activity in June. Except for a few transactions, Northeast Asian markets remain largely absent from the spot market. High temperatures over summer could create additional demand, but above-average LNG inventories provide a sufficient immediate buffer
