New Fortress Energy (NFE) plans the initial start-up of its first company-owned and operated, large scale natural gas liquefaction terminal in late 2023. Located 20 kilometers (12 miles) offshore Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the Altamira FLNG1 project comprises of a single NFE's Fast LNG unit with nameplate capacity of 1.4 mmtpa.
