Following the successful commissioning of the Engro Elengy FSRU in March 2015, the government of Pakistan initiated a second fast-track LNG project, also located at Port Qasim (Mazhar Point). The Pakistan Gasport FSRU was inaugurated in November 2017, and the commissioning cargo was delivered by the vessel Golar Kelvin. 80% of the FSRU capacity is being used to supply LNG for three new gas-fired power plants-totaling 3.6 GW in Punjab province.
