This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Evo Morales was re-elected on 12 October to a third term (2015-2020) as the president of Bolivia. Pursuing a leftist economic agenda, Morales has stewarded strong economic growth at the expense of hydrocarbons exploration. Facing a potential gas shortage in the coming years, the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy has begun drafting new hydrocarbons legislation that could offer revised competitive terms and ultimately stimulate private sector exploration.
