The Accha Zinc Oxide District (AZOD) hosts the Accha and Yanque deposits. Both are carbonate replacement or Leadville-type deposits. The project is comprised of open pit and underground mines, a concentrator with a 4.5kt/d processing capacity and a Waelz roaster to produce a saleable Zn-Pb calcine. Underground mining at Accha is to commence in year 2 of operation until year 6, and is to be by cut and fill method. The calcine is expected to be transported to the port of Matarani or Ilo, respectively located 600km and 710km from the site.
