Report summary
The operation is owned and operated by Anglogold Ashanti. The operation is made up of two complexes, The Cuiabá and Corrego do Sitio (CdS) complexes. A significant proportion of the ore is refractory. Cuiabá complex comprises the Cuiaba and Lamego (operating as a satellite mine to Cuiabá mine) mines and the Cuiabá and Queiroz plants. Ore from the two mines is initially processed at the Cuiabá plant to produce a gold-rich concentrate. The concentrate is then sent for further treatment and refining at the Queiroz plant. The CdS complex comprises two underground mines (CdS 1 and CdS II) and a surface mine (Oxide ore). Oxide ore is treated at on-site heap leach pads while the sulphide ore from the underground mines is treated in a dedicated conventional sulphide processing plant. In 2024, the mine produced 271koz of gold.
