Alpamarca zinc mine

Report summary

This operation includes the open pit Alpamarca mine and the satellite Romina underground mine located 15km from the mill. In 2016 Volcan acquired from Milpo the Romina Zn-Pb deposit. The 2.5kt/d ore concentrator was (in 2018) treating ore from Alpamarca but eventually would treat also the ore from Romina. In 2017 the mill reached a capacity of 2.66kt/d ore. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
