Andacollo copper minesite
Report summary
Carmen de Andacollo is a copper mining operation located 350km north of Santiago in the Coquimbo region of central Chile that produces a copper-gold concentrate and copper cathode. The mine is a conventional truck and shovel open pit mining operation that feeds a 55kt/d sulphide concentrator and a 20kt/a cathode heap leach SxEw operation that operates quite below capacity. The 20kt/a cathode operation started in 1996, with the 55kt/d ore sulphide concentrator operation commencing in 2010.
