Asset Report
Andina copper minesite
Report summary
Andina operates (2021) an underground (block caving) and open pit mine, plus an 88kt/d ore conventional Cu-Mo concentrator. But in the medium term is expected to operate just an open pit mine after closing the underground mine. The deposit is in the high Cordillera of the Andes Mountains, 80km NE of Santiago. Both open pit and underground mining is conducted between 3,700m and 4,200m above sea level. Snowfall is extreme with 7 to 18m per annum and, because of this the open pit, usually operates 332-334 days per annum and the concentrator 360 days.
