Report summary
Anshan Iron and Steel Group is one of the largest steel producers in China. It was established in 1916, and is now a state owned enterprise through the Central Government. Anshan steelworks can produce 18.6 Mtpa of crude steel, one of the largest single steel complexes in China. Anshan is a low cost producer with almost 100% self-sufficient in its coke needs and more than 50% self-sufficient in its iron ore supply, which bring significant cost advantage comparing to other steel producers.
