Asset Report
Antamina zinc mine
Report summary
Antamina exploits a skarn deposit through a conventional open pit mine (typical stripping ratio of 3.5) and a 160-165kt/d ore polymetallic concentrator (expanded to this level from145kt/d in 2015) processing 8 type of ores and producing 5 types of concentrates. The concentrates produced are copper concentrate, bornite concentrate, zinc concentrate, moly concentrate and Pb-Bi concentrate. Because of this, the by-product revenues are quite significant making this operation quite competitive either when analysed as a copper or zinc operation.
